Synopsis：
講述發生在廣州東山和西關的爱情故事。
Chong Fung Yi (Liza Wang) abandoned her eldest son immediately after he was born because she didn't want to be labeled as the woman who gave birth before she was even married. However, her son Hing (Joe Ma) manages to find his way back to her. Due to reputation purposes, she doesn't tell anybody about his true identity. Her younger son, Cheuk Wah (Raymond Wong) falls in love with Yip Heung Ching (Charmaine Sheh) but because their different status' and Fung Yi's objection, they cannot be together. However, soon enough, Heung Ching and Hing find themselves more than just friends... what obstacles will await them this time?
故事介绍：
叶向晴（佘诗曼饰）生於西关，出身大户人家，可惜在她年少时，其父意外身亡；向晴的哥哥年纪尚轻，经验不足，未能守业，结果导至欠债累累，从此家道中落。向晴唯有与向阳一起勤奋地在荔湾经营粥艇。忙於生计，向晴早已忘记男女之事，直到她遇上潘卓华（黄浩然饰）。此时此刻的向晴与卓华，不论身份和地位均十分悬殊，卓华母亲庄凤仪（汪明荃饰）对两者来往当然大加反对，百般阻挠。
后来，卓华跟方宝琦（李诗韵饰）结婚，但他对向晴还没忘情，故夫妻感情淡泊如水，丝毫没有进展。原来贵为千金的宝琦，心中所爱竟是一名小混混关浩长（萧正楠饰），但由於身份悬殊，宝琦与浩长的关系始终敌不过社会压力，被逼分手告终。不过当宝琦嫁给卓华后，她才渐渐明白何谓真爱，要是一对男女没有感情而被逼一起是何等痛苦，再加上她被向晴的积极人生观所感染，她终跟卓华达成协议、排除万难而离婚……
叶向晴因为庄凤仪阻止入门，之后发愤做一个女强人，其后更与庄凤仪另一个儿子潘卓兴（马德钟饰）发生感情，继而结为夫妻。不过潘卓兴是庄凤仪的一个私生子，因为庄凤仪是一个大家族里的传统女性，在封建时代下，嫁夫随夫，饱受家翁压逼，严守三从四德，把未婚生子一事视为人生一大污点，极力隐瞒，即使是儿子的生父，亦即庄凤仪的丈夫也被蒙在鼓里。以致潘卓兴自小流落街头卖艺，后来到潘家做司机，最后身份被暴露，因此当上了大家族的大当家，而潘卓华原来可以继承大当家的位置，但却被半路杀出了一个“ 大哥”，于是兄弟间的展开利欲斗争，而潘卓兴当上了大当家后，本来单纯善良的小子性情大变，最后弟弟和母亲都因他而死……
