新作將目光瞄向了籃球題材，是一部融合了愛情，友情與成長的青春物語。劇集中有不少打籃球的場面，然而主演山下智久本身只在學校上課時打過籃球，所以現時每星期均要接受兩次訓練。他表示，希望觀眾看過劇集後，能夠為他們打氣，使明日過得更開心和積極。所謂蜂鳴垮掉乃是籃球術語，意指球賽完結鐘聲響起的一剎入球，表示到最後也會有反敗為勝的機會。
